Return of Self-Evaluation Forms (SEFs) and a date for your diary.

Many thanks everyone for returning your SEFs last month.  Over the past month the SEFs have been read, discussed, moderated and collated to develop a sound understanding of progress towards Sept 2013.  Progress looks good and on track, and it has been great to have dialogues with you about the support that A2YO can add to the work you are already doing.  We have also enjoyed hearing about the impact and response to the support we have already provided.

Network meetings are in full flow and these, along with the one-to-one discussions and meetings with LAs, make a significant contribution to everyone's understanding of the solutions and ideas being generated for impementation.  I have attended two network meetings already (Nottingham and Birmingham), two more this week in London and Durham and I will be at the second London network meeting next week.  So far, it has been good to receive updates from trial programmes and others sharing such progress as provider communications, online systems, funding progress, and childcare places development strategies towards Sept 2014.  We are still working hard on sharing information and this includes scouting around for three examples of practice to share widely in the form of DVD clips.  If you have something you think deserves shouting about, please get in touch.

Thanks also for the many invitations to your provider networks all over the country.  We are always delighted to attend such events to share the national and regional perspective to support local delivery.  Feedback for our idea of provider roadshows was overwhelmingly positive, so we are now looking at how we can make this happen.

Diary date: National Network Meeting 6th June 2013

Please ensure you put 06/06/13 in the diary for the A2YO national network meeting in London at QEII conference centre, Westminster.  This free conference will update on progress for two year olds, share ideas of practice, include the latest policy news, and we expect Elizabeth Truss to address the meeting in the afternoon.  Booking details to follow, two places per LA, FREE.
