All I want for Christmas is…

2014, the year Knowledge Hub got a mint new look, introduced a bunch of new and exciting features (including library folders and advanced forum and facilitation tools), and welcomed a collection of vibrant new communities from the education sector.

As we draw closer to the end of the year, we’re thinking about what we’re working on that will continue into 2015, to help connect people and build active groups. It might seem like a small change, but there’s a new first-time user login wizard which encourages people to complete their profiles, so that new members can start connecting with like-minded people and join relevant groups right away. As many have said, “Knowledge Hub is only as good as its members”, and with your willingness to share what you know and have experienced, we can build a bigger community of knowledge sharers for across sectors.

The need for Knowledge Hub to become self-sustaining has seen us consider a range of commercial options this year. We admit we’ve made a few mistakes, but we’re quick learners and we’re continuing to think creatively about how we keep Knowledge Hub free for individual members while also covering our costs.

There are great opportunities for improved collaboration in 2015 and exciting times ahead as we develop our new premium product portfolio:

Networks
Network owners will be able to brand a collection of open, restricted and private groups to create a Network on Knowledge Hub. They will be able to keep in touch with members, build brand recognition and make their groups easier to find by filtering them based on theme, organisation or perhaps geographic region via a self-managed home page.

Social Hubs
A one-stop-shop, secure social intranet and extranet hosted within Knowledge Hub, with collaboration and productivity tools to engage employees and work smarter. The extranet feature makes it easy to work virtually with partners and, with access to the rest of Knowledge Hub, organisations can also benefit from knowledge within the wider community.

Advertising
Delivering the right message to the right audience, at the right time and in the right context is the holy grail of advertising. Our banners on the Knowledge Hub enable advertisers to do this.

Sponsorship
Group sponsorship helps organisations raise awareness of their brands with an engaged, relevant audience. Any group sponsorship is always discussed in partnership with group owners and sponsors to ensure the best deal for everyone.

Private groups
Private groups are completely hidden. Only group members can see and access the group. Members must be invited to join.

You can keep up to date with all these developments in the KHub Connects group.

All we want for Christmas is to enable Knowledge Hub to continue to be what we and you want it to be – an effective, efficient way to collaborate with peers in your organisation, your profession, your sector and across sectors. The smart way to work!

We hope you’ll continue to engage with us and the Knowledge Hub to connect with relevant contacts, find the right groups and participate in them. And we’d love you to consider how some of our new products fit with your needs and what you want to achieve in your organisation.

Now that you know what we would really like for Christmas, we'd love to hear from you too…

Based on your feedback we already have a huge wish list of the technical things we could do in the future, so putting that aside for now, what is the one thing that would enhance your Knowledge Hub collaboration experience? What will help you achieve your individual or group’s objectives? What support and guidance would you like from us?

There are conversations going on in knowledge Hub about pretty much anything, from stray dogs and loom bands to static caravans and data sets, but is there a topic missing which you would like to discuss?

Add a comment below and let us know what you would like for Christmas from Knowledge Hub…

Merry Christmas to all our members and thank you for your support. We look forward to working with you in 2015.
