Caravan in small woodland

Caravan in small woodland

I'm thinking of buying a small piece of woodland as a bit of a country retreat.

I'd like to park a small 'mobile home' there rather than having to camp!  I've no intention of letting it or anything like that, but to use it as a lock-up-and-leave place.  nor would I want to (or be able to) connect it up to any services.

I've read several postings in different places and am still a bit confused.  I'd ring up a planning department, but I haven't yet decided where I'd like to buy in the first place, though the field is narrowing on Devon, Dorset or Cornwall.  I gather that such a movable building wouldn't normally need planning permission elsewhere, but that buildings allowing sleeping overnight in a forestry site need permission for 'change of use'.

If I'm right so far, what I'm not clear about is whether the mobile nature of the proposed building makes any difference?

Would be really grateful for any advice.

Thanks Graham
