Hi

Grateful for any thoughts on the following scenario please.

Planning permission has been given for conversion of a building with additional floor area added.  The Liability Notice has been issued (offsetting the existing floor area) and self build exemption subsequently granted.  The development is now complete.

My question is how will the applicant be able to comply with the requirements of part 2 of the exemption?  i.e. (a)  no VAT refund as the development is not a new build (b) I have been advised by a warranty provider that 'stage completion certificates' would not be issued on a conversion and (c) the applicant has funded the build without a loan or mortgage.

Appreciate your help!
