I would be very grateful for your feedback on the following questions relating to the award of Section 106 funds...
1) Protecting Funding: We have an application process in place when awarding Section 106 funds but are looking to formalise the decision correspondence. This is currently done by letter which outlines any conditions the applicants are required to meet. In particular, we would like to protect the S106 funding in the event that the project to which it is awarded should fail, or the community asset should cease to be used as such.
Do any authorities have a formal document they issue when awarding S106 funding that might assist us?
2) Safeguarding: On a related matter, when awarding other forms of grant, the contract we use requires the recipient to have safeguarding policies in place. Does anyone else include safeguarding policies as a condition of awarding Section 106 funds?
