Apologies if this is covering old ground or i'm being a bit dense.
I've been doing some fairly detailed analysis of our self-build
register. Now, i'm aware the key word is that it is a register of
'demand' and not 'need', but the majority of the applications sitting
on our register at this time express a desire for two occupants to
develop and occupy a three, four or five bed property (and many of
them are retirees which suggests they are not expecting to expand
their family in the traditional sense).
Has anyone else come across this and have you done anything
innovative around the interpretation of the register into policy? eg,
you've planned for serviced plots that reflect the current needs of
the households on the register as well as their demand for a plot?
