Would you like to showcase your work...?

New Member Postiadau: 16 Dyddiad Ymuno: 21/10/2011 Bostiadau diweddar

The LGA is developing a publication in conjunction with the British Property Federation, Federation of Master Builders, Home Builders Federation and the Planning Advisory Service to showcase effective partnership approaches to positive planning.

This will be a follow-on from the Planning Positively through Partnership publication published in January 2014 and follow a similar format. https://www.local.gov.uk/sites/default/files/documents/planning-positively-throu-5d8.pdf

We are looking for case studies of up to 1 page that illustrate how councils and developers working together in partnership can bring forward high quality development that supports economic growth and builds support and acceptance from communities. As with the previous publication we would also like to include photos (where possible) and also a short quote from both the council and the developer.

This may include, but is not limited to, the following elements:

  • Early engagement at local plan-making stage

  • Effective and joined up pre-application advice services

  • Effective consultation with communities

  • Leadership and the role of councillors

  • Supporting SME developers

  • Implementing planning permissions swiftly

  • Unblocking stalled sites

  • Land assembly and de-risking sites

  • Capturing land value uplifts

  • Planning for to meet housing need e.g. for an ageing population, affordable housing, build to rent, student accommodation, custom and self-build

  • Effective negotiations on developer contributions

  • Developing joint ventures

  • Strategic planning across areas

  • Accessing institutional investment

If you would like to showcase work you have done in your area then it would be great to hear from you.

For further information and/or to put forward information, please get in touch with jo.allchurch@local.gov.uk by 15 August 2017.

We are always looking to share innovative and good practice and so would also welcome submissions after this date to be included in other projects.
