I have written the above document for the Council's website, in order
to comply with para. 009 of the Planning Practice Guidance on First
Homes. I was surprised at how few other authorities seem to have
produced one. The guidance suggests that we publish an interim policy
statement or update relevant local plan policies. Given that the
latter option is likely to be time consuming to implement, I expected
more authorities to have produced an interim policy statement,
particularly those that don't have a Local Plan adopted under the
transitional arrangements. However, a quick scan on google showed that
this isn't the case. Please can you advise if you are currently
producing such a statement for applicants applying for housing schemes
in your area, and if not, are you amending your affordable housing
policies to take on this requirement?
