We are now finalising our installments policy for approval by the members together with the Charging Schedule. At present we are proposing a threshold of £50,00 below which payment in full would have to be made within 60 days. It is however being suggested to us that the £50k threshold figure is too high or that any level of contribution should be eligible for payment by instalments. I am aware that some LPAs that have already adopted CIL have a £50k threshold in their instalments policy. I would be interested to hear about how such a threshold has been working in practice. Have liable parties had difficulty in paying CIL before any income from development has been realised?
