S106 agreements and affordable housing tenants
We are exploring whether S106 agreements could be used to control the way in which social housing providers secure tenants. We are finding that an increasing number of providers are requiring tenants to undergo credit checks and to pay deposits, rents and fees in advance in a similar way to private commercial lettings thereby restricting access to affordable housing for some prospective tenants. Is anybody experiencing a similar problem and used S106 agreements or any other mechansim to control the problem. Thanks.
