Direct Action

Direct Action

My authority wants to take direct action at two sites to achieve compliance with enforcement notices, which require the removal of areas of hardstanding and on one site the removal of a mobile home. I have approached one company for quotes which have come back at £8,900 to remove the hardstanding at one site and £23,000 to remove an area of hardstanding and remove a mobile home at another site. I would be grateful for any information people have about other companies, ideally in the Essex area, that might carry this type of work out so that I can compare quotes.

RE: Direct Action

You might want to try Nigel Wicks of Enforcement Services Ltd, based in Bucks. His company specialises in direct action on behalf of local authorities. Email: enforcementservices@btinternet.com

Direct Action

I am due to present an item to Planning Committee members relating to Enforcementas part of training for councillors. We currently have no money available for Direct Action and am getting a bit down hearted with issuing empty threats to people who have breached planning regs. I was therefore hoping to put a slant on my presentation to highlight this and hopefully persuade Councillors to address this issue and we can get some particularly bad sites cleared up. Our biggest problem in this borough is residential use of mobile homes in the countryside. I was interested to see how you got on with your cases , particularly the mobile home and if you used Nigel Wicks I attended the Warrington RTPI update last year and his item was great but I didnt get the chance to ask him anything in detail. Thanks Charlotte Parkinson
