Nice short Question....... I want to ask for a fence to be erected so that the eyesore, (only visible from the front / public highway), caused by a derelict site is removed from the street scene. It would require planning permission as it exceeds the PD limit. Can I do this under s215 ? Best Practice guidance for s215 suggests at page 7 that I cannot. A fence over 1m high here would in itself need planning permission. I could write a fuller version that explains why I want to use screening instead of clearance, which is an option, but I know my own attention wanes reading from computer screens after about 4 or 5 lines. Darn it.! You probably haven’t read the last few lines have you…. ??
