PAS NPPF self assessment

We have been completing the PAS NPPF self assessment table and are wondering what to do with it once we have completed it. We intend to have it 'approved' by our own Members, but essentially it will still be our own interpretation of whether and how we think our policies comply with the NPPF. This will inevitably lead to debates on individual planning applications and appeals as to whether this was the right interpretation. Has anyone else thought about having their assessment independently checked (and by who) or consulting on their assessment (and with who), to add some weight to the judgements being made? Any thoughts very much appreciated.

Re: PAS NPPF self assessment

For what it's worth, I think we imagined this self assessment to only ever be a snapshot - a way of providing structure to project managing any work required under the new national framework. Because, if your conclusion is "everything is entirely fine" you may as well throw it away. If you think "we need to make changes to policies A, B and C" then the snapshot becomes quickly out of date. The point being that the self assessment drives activity. Anyone else ?
