Has anyone had experience of contact with the CAA (as one of the prescribed bodies) under the Duty to Co-operate requirements? We don't have any airfields in our Borough and note that the guidance leaflet on Planning Consultation Requirements the CAA web site (dated Feb 2011) states that the CAA should not be consulted on Strategic Planning Documents (including LDF and Core Strategy Documents) other than those with direct aviation involvement and states furthermore that the CAA will not answer letters on the above subjects!

John We consulted CAA on our Land Allocations DPD at publication stage and got a response from their Aerodrome Standards Department. Drop me an e-mail and I'll give you the contact. They confirmed that they had no issues but also gave us some information and contacts for an airfield in a neighbouring authority which we were able to follow up.
