Statement of Community Involvement

Does anyone know what Regulations we are supposed to be following, or indeed if we need to produce an SCI anymore? Help!!

Hello Sally There are some other threads on SCIs which you might find useful. http://www.pas.gov.uk/pas/forum/thread-maint.do?topicId=2284679&start=30 and http://www.pas.gov.uk/pas/forum/thread-maint.do?topicId=2115126

The requirement to have an SCI remains under the 2004 Act and compliance with it remains a test of soundness. All regs relating to SCIs have gone so provided that the statutory requirements for SCIs are met, it's up to you. Obviously it no longer has to go through Independent Examination. One reason you might want to look again at your SCI is that newspaper adverts for DPDs are no longer a regulatory requirement. If (as we have) you have committed to doing them in an SCI, you'll still have to do them to get a sound plan. You could also use an SCI review to set some ground rules for neighbourhood planning.
