Flexible working practices to support staff retention and recruitment

The recruitment of skilled planning staff, and then holding on to the staff that you have invested in, is a problem that authorities in every region have been raising . In response PAS is preparing a case study to focus on different ways in which authorities are coming to grips with this problem. We know that several authorities have responded to the problem by introducing flexible working/ work life balance arrangements to retain trained staff and to make it easier for trained staff to return to the workforce. If you have such a scheme and find that it has been effective for your authority, please let us know urgently.
