We are looking at moving the consultation and notification part of the planning application process from the planning officers to our Technical Support Team to be done at registration/validation stage. The aim is to get the consultations and notifications started earlier, to both enable earlier decisions, and to find more time to resolve any issues. To make this change we are looking to draw up clear guidance/protocol so that anyone without any specific planning background, but with appropriate training, will be able to do this without any planning input or making a ‘planning’ judgement. Has anyone got something along these lines that they would like to share?? Thanks
