We have a prior determination application which is attracting a lot of local concern, although in itself there are few problems with it. Locals would like to see an existing mast, further from them, shared. As supporting info the applicant has indicated that it is technically possible to use the existing mast whcih is owned by another body, but the commercial terms are unreasonable. They have also suggested that if they get the go ahead, the operator currently using the existing mast will move their kit to the newly permitted mast. The owner of the existing mast is, not surprisingly, making representations that his mast should be shared. So we seem to be caught in the middle of a commercial spat, and are unclear whether "siting" in this case extends to consideration of sharing opportuntieis, and if so, how far we should take the commercial issue as a reason to discount the existing mast. Ideas?
