Given the general thrust of Government to reduce red tape , I thought I`d share this one with you< LPA in the north west is insisting that all paper submissions of any type of application be accompanied with an electronic copy. DC Manager and Head of Planning openly admit its about cost savings for the LPA not having to scan etc Now my reading of the DMPO is that an LPA can only ask for proportionate and necessary requirements to enable the LPA to determine the application. As such whether its on paper, stone tablets or electronic is neither proportionate nor necesary to whether the case officer can form a view on the planning merits of the case. Views welcome!
