Voter ID and Neighbourhood Plans

Does the requirement to produce Voter ID at the polling station also apply to a neighbourhood plan referendum?

I have been advised that it does, but can find no reference to this in the regulations or legislation.

According to this page on GOV.UK you do

Thanks Hans. We stumbled across that webpage just a few minutes ago. I can't recall seeing anything about this matter in the mainstream 'planning press' so hopefully this post will be of some use to others.

Blimey.

I had totally missed this. Photo ID needed for a neighbourhood plan referendum but not a town & parish council election.

Sounds like a tricky message to deliver!

As far as I understood it, town and parish council elections also require Photo ID ? e.g. https://elections.wiltshire.gov.uk/Home/Division/8362 ?

Useful to be aware.

Since any referendum would be managed and run by a borough council's  Election staff you would hope that they would be up to speed with what the latest requirements are from government.  Not sure there has been widespread electoral fraud to date in neighbourhood referenda!

Unless perhaps you're in a new Unitary on your own election cycle halfway between elections...
