Accountability Principles for Artificial Intelligence (AP4AI) is a framework specially designed for Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) when deploying AI.

This framework suggests LEAs must align themselves to 12 principles: -

  • Universality

  • Legality

  • Explainability

  • Transparency

  • Independence

  • Compellability

  • Commitment to robust evidence

  • Pluralism

  • Conduct

  • Enforceability and redress

  • Learning organisation

  • Constructiveness
