Citizens Online – Digital Inclusion
Citizens Online is a charity that is dedicated to eradicating the digital divide. They have various resources and projects on their website designed to promote digital inclusion and help ensure that services that switch to online do not exclude people.
“We work towards the goal of everyone being able to benefit from digital technology – regardless of; age, income, education or skill level, disability, health, literacy, language, gender, ethnicity or any other potential barrier that could prevent people accessing the online world. We believe that no-one should be left behind in today’s digital age. We also respect that not everyone wants to use online services and believe that they shouldn’t have to.”
They have information on their website about what digital exclusion is and projects they have to promote digital inclusion: https://www.citizensonline.org.uk/digital-inclusion/
They also have various resources about digital inclusion (https://www.citizensonline.org.uk/digital-inclusion/resources/) and the role of ‘digital champions’ in bridging the digital divide (https://www.citizensonline.org.uk/digital-inclusion/digital-champions/).
