This is my guest blog for LGiU (posted 25th February 2013) in which I set out the contribution of local authorities in general and social care in particular to sustainable health and wellbeing. I urge colleagues to engage with the NHS Sustainable Development Unit's consultation which proposes an ambitious new strategy for the whole health, public health and social care system to 2020.
