This session set out the  position on skills and apprenticeships as at June 2026 and considered the factors most likely to influence local government early careers and apprenticeships as we move in to the 2026/2027 . Starting with a briefing from Nigel Carruthers at the LGA on the current landscape and what this means for the future, this was followed by a session on the impact of the changes in apprenticeships due from August 26, then an overview of the growing impact of units via both apprenticeships and the Lifelong Learning Entitlement then a final session highlighting  the early headline findings of the LGA Survey.  Any queries please email info@spark.org.uk
