Uploading resources to the Digital Sharing Hub

Getting started

  1. Go to Resources in the navigation menu
  2. Select Add resource

Selecting the language for your resource

Use the language switcher (which appears as a flag) on the upload page to choose your language.

You can upload resources in:

  • English
  • Welsh
  • both English and Welsh

When uploading a resource in both English and Welsh please save your resource in your initial language choice before uploading the translation.

Resources will not be automatically translated, and will only be available in the language(s) in which they are uploaded by you.

Creating a helpful title and description

The title should give people information about the topic(s) covered in the resource.

A good description should include information about:

  • what the resource is
  • the topic it covers
  • how it is useful
  • who created it
  • who might find it useful

Embedding media

You can embed a video, podcast or other media in the editor of the Description field.

  1. Copy the relevant embed code from the third-party website, such as a YouTube
  2. Select Source in the description editor
  3. Paste the embed code into the editor
  4. Select Source again to return to the standard editor.

Adding images

To add an image:

  1. select the small image symbol in the description editor. This will open a new screen
  2. select an existing image or upload a new one
  3. select Add

The image should now appear in the description editor.

Adding a category

These categories help users to find resources:

  • Type: provide relevant information on the intent of your resource – does it talk about strategy, provide guidance or is it used in training for skills and development?
  • Content: capture relevant information about the media of your resource. Is it a webinar, a video clip or a presentation deck?
  • Public service: give information about the original source of your resource. For example, does it come from a local government or the third sector?
  • Attachments: if you need to upload your resource as a downloadable attachment
  • Link: if your resource is available online
  • Subject: select one or more of the post's main topic areas
  • Tags: use tags to highlight other areas and topics relevant to your resource. Do not create a new tag if a relevant one exists.

You do not need to complete every field but add as many as you can.
