The Modernising Lasting Powers of Attorney (MLPA) team considered its approach to the Welsh language.
Here they share what they’ve learnt from testing Welsh content, and the challenges they needed to solve
The feedback on their Welsh content was overwhelmingly positive. But there were instances where words and phrases were unfamiliar, or the tone changed.
To act on testing results, the team adapted trio writing.
They worked through feedback directly with the Welsh Language Unit, reviewing the Welsh and English content side-by-side.
Not only did it save time going back and forth in Word documents and emails, but it meant that they could:
- provide context
- discuss each comment
- decide whether any changes affected the English content too.
