Historic England grant funded a range of Archaeological Mentoring Partnership in 2025/26 using 1:1 structured mentoring as a way to develop specialist skills in archaeology.

This Individual Learning Plan Template is a practical tool designed to help mentors and mentees identify, plan and track their learning and development goals.

The template supports structured conversations about career aspirations, skills development, professional growth and leadership, helping mentoring partnerships focus on meaningful objectives and monitor progress over time. It encourages participants to reflect on their strengths, identify areas for development, agree achievable actions and capture learning throughout the mentoring relationship.

Suitable for use at the start of a mentoring partnership and as a working document throughout the programme, the template can be adapted to meet individual needs and career stages.
