Case study

Since 2015 local government (led by the LGA and participating councils) has been working to develop a new national data standard to set out how information about local and hyper local services might be published openly.  The vision is for national coverage by all local services providers so that suppliers, app developers and platforms of services sites can develop software once to discover information about all local and voluntary and community services available.  These can then be discovered, matched to people's complex circumstances and needs and suggested to help improve lives.  The standard is Open Referral UK and is being progressed by partnerships of public and private organisations for wider take-up and ease of use.  Here are a selection of early case studies recording the benefits being realised - not only for the citizens we serve but also for the service providers as well.
