The LGA's refreshed National Procurement Strategy for Local Government in England – and accompanying toolkit – have been designed to support local authorities of all types, sizes, up and down the country to maximise opportunities in their supply chains.

The strategy is launched at a time of grave economic pressures on councils. It emphasises delivering value and adding social value in procurement and supply chains. The role of procurement in local government remains pivotal in maximising opportunities and managing the challenges faced by our sector and our communities.

The strategy introduces new approaches, emphasises better use of data, greater collaboration to deliver value, and how to unlock even more benefits through social value, it also provides councils with an opportunity to continue measuring improvement.
