Hi all, thought you might like to know about the next AI Ambassador Network meeting (3 June 2026
, 10.30 – midday )

Mary Lavender (Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and Disabled Staff Network Chair - Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust) , focussing on real-life practical examples, Mary will examine how AI can help close the disability gap and be adopted responsibly and inclusively across the NHS to improve accessibility, workforce confidence and governance.

Dr Payal Ghatnekar (Technologies Research Programme Manager - Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust) , will share how her Trust built genuine AI confidence across its workforce. She will describe how the development of its AI policy, was shaped through a practical, people-centred approach, informed by a digital literacy and inclusion project shortlisted for the HSJ Awards 2025. Drawing on behavioural science and experience designing AI learning programmes, Payal will explore how knowledge, confidence and psychological safety helped enable staff at all levels engage critically and responsibly with AI and will also reflect on challenges and lessons learned.

James Freed (Deputy Director, The Digital Academy, NHSE) and Dr Jeffry Hogg (Clinician Scientist, UHB Trust) will also lead a bite-sized AI learning session.
