Your Invitation: AI Ambassador Network meeting - Asking Patients What Could Go Wrong, AI for Urgent & Emergency Care & Equitable risk-predictive care, bite-sized AI learning & more… 1 July 2026, 10.30am – midday

Hi all, thought you might like to know about the next AI Ambassador Network meeting (1 July 2026, 10.30 – midday)

Join us as Ruth Ajayi (Patient Advocate and Non-Executive Director, NHS England) will explore how AI is changing the way patients and carers prepare for appointments, advocate for themselves and interact with healthcare systems and clinicians. While some people are feeling more informed and empowered, others are being left behind and concerns are emerging around trust and inequalities, so maybe we should ask patients “what could go wrong?” before we rush to deploy AI.

Dr Matea Deliu (Chief Clinical Information Officer, Bromley Healthcare) will present findings from an AI-driven proactive, predictive care pathway deployed across North-East London. Drawing on a large-scale service evaluation, she will demonstrate how clinically integrated, equity-aware AI can support earlier intervention, improve outcomes at scale and reduce unplanned hospital use, including emergency attendances and bed days. The session will also highlight how targeted model adjustments can improve fairness across ethnic groups without compromising accuracy.

Dr Jeffry Hogg (Clinician Scientist, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust) will lead the next session in the applied bite-sized AI learning series, entitled “When is AI a medical device and why does it matter?”, informed by our recent members’ learning needs survey.

Dom Cushnan (Deputy Director of AI, NHS England/DHSC) will provide updates on the Healthcare AI Roadmap, to which AI Ambassador Network members are actively contributing, alongside the latest developments in AI regulation and policy across health and social care.

Join the AI Ambassador Network to register for the meeting. Existing members will receive invitations automatically.
